Submitting Decals

How to Submit Your Decal

Please read the rules for submitting decals before sending any to the Decal Bazaar.

So far, I haven't found out how to implement a file-upload form for the site. However, Freeservers does support CGI, so I may be able to set something up down the road.

For now, you can e-mail your decal to me at decalbazaar@rattlebrain.com as an attatchment.
If your e-mail account or client does not support attatchments, e-mail me and we can figure something out. If you don't have an e-mail account . . . well, you're going to have to wait.

If you are sending more than say, two or three files, I would appreciate if you ZIPped them before sending them to me. You can get WinZip, a decent compression Utility, at www.winzip.com.

Rules for Submitting Decals

I don't like rules, and you probably don't, either. These guidelines for submitting your personal decals are not put here to cramp your style, but rather try to keep the decals displayed here in sync with the spirit of the Decal Bazaar.

  1. Since the decals here are intended to be available for use by whoever wants them, don't send name- or clan-specific decals unless you really want other people to use them. While people may want to advertise for you or your clan, it is pretty unlikely.
  2. Don't send a decal that you found on another website or otherwise had nothing to do with. If the decal is available elsewhere, we don't want do display it here. While the Decal Bazaar hopes to have an extensive gallery, it would just not be interesting if half-a-dozen sites all contained the same collection of decals. Of course, this doesn't apply if you have made a decal or two and posted it on your web site; we only don't want to rob other sites of their content (and hope that they won't try to take ours).
  3. Make sure you are sending a 64x64 greyscale bitmap decal image and not just an image file. Unless have an image that you must have converted to a decal and can't do it yourself, we would prefer if you formatted the image yourself. If you are unsure of how to do this, check out the decal tutorial for some insight.
  4. This shouldn't have to be said, but hateful or derogatory images are unwanted here. Don't bother.

That's all. If you still have questions, please e-mail me at decalbazaar@rattlebrain.com, and I will try to answer them.
